Evesham Utd U-11 0,

Ilmington Utd 4

ILMINGTON dominated Saturday's fixture from the opening whistle.

The opening goal came from a strike by Jack Barnard after ten minutes but it took until the same time after the break for Tom Owen to double the advantage.

Jack McMullen added two more to complete a superb team display from the winners.

Alcester 2000 0, Vale Wdrs U-13s 6

ANOTHER superb team performance helped Vale maintain their 100 per cent start to the season.

Roberto Vernaschi continued his fabulous scoring record with five goals. A first half hat-trick and two more in the second half were added to by a deserved goal for Jonathon Cother.

Drakes Broughton U-11 7, Dunnington A 0

EARLY goals from Owen Johnson and Ross Day set Drakes on their way before Tom Bird fired in a cross from Johnson.

The visitors weren't letting Drakes have it all their own way as they made some good chances but they were unable to convert them into goals with goalkeeper Ashley Millington in fine form.

The second half saw further goals from Day, Bird, Michael Slater, and Sam Clements that left the winners in seventh heaven!

Evesham Utd U-9 3,

Sheppey Swifts 2

UNITED took the lead courtesy of a great strike from Ben Scarrott.

Sheppey equalised only for Scarrott to regain the lead with his second of the match.

It was end to end stuff and it was no surprise then when Swifts levelled again but Evesham weren't to be denied and Oliver Banning's fine solo strike earned his side the points.

Oldbury Park Tigers U-10 0, Evesham Utd 1

UNITED progressed into the quarter-finals of the Mercian League Cup, but they were made to fight all the way.

The first half saw them exert a lot of pressure with Henry Woods coming close on two occasions, while Louis Brown headed over a James Bearcroft cross.

United had goalkeeper Leon Ballard to thank when he thwarted a rare Oldbury attack with his defence in tatters.

Changes in formation at half-time proved fruitful when Bearcroft converted a penalty for handball. Dan Francis was then unlucky not to make it 2-0 when his flick on from Ford's cross went inches over.

Evesham Utd U-15 4,

Lyppard Rgrs 0

EVESHAM continued their unbeaten run to secure a place in the second round of the cup.

The game started brightly with Zac Warren scoring the opener after a goalmouth scramble and then added two more from long throws.

The hat-trick ace then sealed victory with his fourth in the second half.

Malvern Tn Wdrs 0,

Henrician U-16 2

GOALS from Scott Williams and Richard Perry helped Henrician reach the next round of the Mercian Festival Junior League's League Cup competition.

The hosts were hoping to avenge an earlier league reverse but found their Evesham opponents again made of stern stuff.

Ashley Powell was the inch-perfect provider of both goals. His 18th minute free-kick was deftly netted by the head of Scott Williams, while centre back Richard Perry ensured progress when meeting Powell's second half flag-kick.

Cheltenham YMCA B 1, Badsey Rgrs U-14 2

RANGERS made it six games unbeaten to remain on top of the Cheltenham Youth League.

They were made to work hard for the points that were eventually secured courtesy of a George Lavis back heel.

Badsey were indebted to goalkeeper and player of the match Will Tyrrell in a goalless first half but he was helpless to intervene when YMCA broke the deadlock with 12 minutes remaining.

The goal stirred the visitors into action and Joe Smith's lovely pass left Jamie Clarke clear on goal and a typically cool finish made it 1-1.

Sixty seconds later, Ben Holland's cross was met by Lavis and the 'Zola style' finish left the winners in a commanding position at the summit.

Peopleton U-15 10, Newtown 1

FIVE goals in each half sealed an easy passage into the next round of the League Cup.

Alex Spencer (2) and Will George left Peopleton flying high early on but a swift reply certainly gave the hosts something to think about as the first half wore on.

However, further strikes from Matt Greaves and Ross Sailes prevented any thoughts of a fightback and the first half tally was matched after the break as the hosts registered double figures.

Spencer's skills brought him two more goals, while James Quickley bagged himself a brace before substitute Luke Frankum ended the rout.

Salford Rvrs U-15 2, Welland Jnrs 1

ROVERS followed up an earlier league success to make knockout progress last Sunday.

However, they had to hit back from being a goal behind after Welland took a 16th minute lead.

There was a slice of luck about the equaliser when a hopeful cross from Tom Barber swirled into the top corner but there was no doubting the quality of the winner as Matthew Layton controlled a sharp pass before deftly chipping the goalkeeper.

Sid Bennett was named player of the match for his defensive work.

Sheppey Junior Swifts 1,

Ilmington Utd U-10 3

ILMINGTON put on another fine display to take them up the Ambassador League table against determined hosts.

Skipper George Cowper put United ahead after ten minutes and Charlie Jones was denied a second by the crossbar. Sheppey hit back and equalised just before the interval.

Harry Barnard came on as substitute and immediately changed the game with a couple of magnificent goals.
