I WRITE with great concern regarding the proposed sad plight which may befall the maternity unit at Kidderminster Hospital.

My motivation stems from the absolutely excellent treatment which my daughter was so fortunate to receive at this unit two years ago.

Despite the reservations concerning the delivery of her first-born, the care and attention they both received were just second to none.

Admittedly she was very fortunate in enjoying a trouble-free delivery. Perhaps the relaxing and enhancing surroundings played a part.

There is no doubt it was so impressive, yet at the end of the day, all praise went to the entire team.

The whole scene was, in essence, quite faultless and sublime.

We all feel that the loss of this vital and welcome service would indeed be a huge tragedy and only seek to undermine the devotion and commitment given totally by the loyal, hard-working midwives.

Admittedly, certain questions may need to be asked. Yet it is so very often that a little bureaucracy can be capable of spoiling things for so many.

My daughter expects another baby in the spring. The whole of that family issue a huge PLEASE for her to be permitted the privilege of looking forward to enjoying the same dutiful, reassuring care she was so fortunate to receive before.
