Impressed on trial with Harriers during pre-season and signed a one-year deal before the start of the 2003/04 season.

Started his career as a young professional at Coventry but was not given a first-team debut for the then-Premiership club.

The promising solid defender was freed to Swindon where he played 92 games in Divisions One and Two over five seasons.

Willis had his fair share of injuries at the County Ground and also made 10 appearances on loan for Mansfield during the 1998/99 campaign.

Strong in the air and with the ability to play good passes out of defence, Willis was thought by some Swindon fans to be too good for Division Three.

He has quickly shone with his organisation and communication skills at the heart of the back-line.

League appearances/goals: Swindon (98/99) 11, Mansfield (loan) 10, Swindon (99/2000) 23, (2000/01) 21, (01/02) 22/1, (02/03) 15.

This season: 13 games, 1 goal, 3 yellow cards, 1 red card.

Status: First-choice defender.
