Zut Alors! Entente cordiale extends into the world of drama when a visiting company says bonjour to Chipping Norton.
Thtre Sans Frontires is the UK's only theatre company which performs plays in their original language and, next week, it presents Manon Lescaut - in French.
The company, with a reputation for transforming audiences into multi-linguists through its physical and visual style, has commissioned north east writer, Steve Larkin, to adapt the original 18th Century novel.
The production boasts 1950s styling and shades of film noir, casting Manon as a femme fatale to rival Lana Turner
Tragedy, farce, and commedia dell' arte combine in an exuberant tale of passion and romance, obsession and treachery.
With a cast from France, Portugal, Australia and Britain, the show is suitable for audiences aged 16 and upwards and runs tonight (Friday) and Saturday, at 8pm.Tickets on 01608 642350.
