Countryside and Rights of Way Act 2000 - access to Asham Meadow discussed. Meeting adjourned for David Williams-Thomas to speak.

He advised that this land was jointly owned (freehold) by eight different people.

The common rights were not for access but for the right to graze animals after the hay was cut, which extended only for a limited period from August to December.

There was a case to keep area free of open access to preserve its diverse wildlife and its peaceful nature.

It was agreed that a letter be sent in support of this view.
