POLICE have received valuable information from the public on two crimes in Worcestershire thanks to appeals in the Evening News.
The new information on an assault on three men in a Malvern pub and a foiled attempt to snatch a woman's handbag in Worcester has come as a result of stories appearing in the paper.
"This is a prime example of the police and the media working closely together on a daily - and even hourly - basis," said Richard Bull, spokesman for Worcester police.
"The public often has important - sometimes vital - information when they do not realise it. What to them seems trivial or irrelevant can sometimes prove to be a key element to an investigation - particularly when identification is important."
