IT'S funny, frothy and frivolous but the main appeal of this film is 111 minutes of Matthew McConaughey.
What a gorgeous man! Whether he's smiling, frowning, thinking or just plain breathing, he's just so watchable. Forget George and Brad - why Matthew isn't recognised as the film world's new sex god I just don't know.
Here he plays eligible bachelor Benjamin Barry who takes on a bet that he can lure any woman to fall in love with him in 10 days. Cue the very pretty Kate Hudson, who unbeknown to Ben, hooks up with him purely to write a piece on how to drive a man away in 10 days for her regular magazine column.
The resulting string of deceptions are funny but cringingly embarrassing. Some of the scenes are just too uncomfortable to watch. If you become as involved as I did, just look away when they're watching the last few minutes of the crucial basketball game and when you hear the word poker, don't look up at all.
Start watching again soon though and enjoy a very comical finale and delight in the chemistry between Kate and Matthew.
