I HAVE good news for Peter Tomlinson, the managing director of Saga 105.7fm.
I have been a computer programmer since leaving school at 16 and have been pursuing this trade for 38 years.
As an IT-contractor I have to obtain work with different companies on a four to six-monthly cycle so I can assure him there are many companies out there who don't mind what age you are, as long as you can do the job.
Incidentally, for Mr Tomlinson's information, I don't remember having had kids (such a pejorative term).
My wife and I count ourselves lucky. We had children instead - six of them.
