AS part of Rennie Harris Puremovement 's first ever performances at the Birmingham Hippodrome Theatre an exciting week long course in the art of creative sound and urban dance is on offer!

Rennie Harris Pure Movement is a company of seven energetic dancers from Philadelphia who blend diverse African-American traditions with contemporary hip-hop and can be seen at the Hippodrome on 27th and 28th October.

The Birmingham Hippodrome Theatre has joined forces with Dance Xchange's DAiR project and Punch Records to provide 14 - 24 year olds a chance to get involved in an explosive hothouse of music and dance. The students will be working with local artists specially selected by DanceXchange and Punch Records.

From Monday 27th October - Saturday 1st November a fun-packed course will see students rapping, MC'ing, and mixing down a track. They will then use their own sounds to create a brand new collective piece of urban dance which will be performed at DanceXchange at the Patrick Centre, on Saturday November 1.

The students will also get to see the opening night performance of Rennie Harris which will help to provide the inspiration for the course.

This unique week long event including ticket to the performance is £35. Call the Hippodrome box office to book your place on 0870 730 1234.
