DEAR EDITOR - I am a resident of Maple Road in Rubery.

Having my grandson aged eight staying with me, I decided on a recent Friday evening to take him to the park in Rubery so he could play for a short time.

How disgusted I was when we got there. To find in the 'small' area for children to play in, a group of teenage girls and boys on the swings, slides etc swearing and smoking, my grandson did not stand a chance to play on the swings.

He lives at Droitwich and when I take him to Droitwich park or we go to Sanders Park in Bromsgrove, it is a pleasure. They both have a section for teenagers and a section for children. Why didn't Bromsgrove District Council take note of this when they 'planned' Rubery park?

It is a nightmare in every way, I feel sorry for the teenagers in Rubery but more sorry for the children having their new playground taken off them when it is half the size of the original one.
