FAIRFIELD Villa's first match in the post-Cliff Hughes era ended with a goalless home draw with Cadbury Athletic.
Villa, who saw manager Hughes resign last week after 14 years in charge, were at full stretch early on and it needed David White, making his debut in goal to keep the scores level.
The hosts finished the half on top and took control of the game after the break, missing four clear cut opportunities to break the deadlock.
Cadbury stopper Z Iqbal made three crucial saves to ensure a point apiece.
