A FIRST half penalty condemned Barnt Green Spartak to only their second league defeat of the season.
GJ Singh's side were beaten 1-0 at Polesworth North Warwickshire in last Saturday's Midland Combination division one clash.
Polesworth scored from the spot on 17 minutes after Akbar Ali conceded a penalty with a needless tackle.
Both sides cancelled each other out with Spartak having the majority of second half play.
The few half chances that did come Spartak's way were wasted while Polesworth battled hard, but never looked like adding to their goal tally.
Spartak boss GJ Singh said: "It was just one of those days. Nothing fell for us, but it wasn't for the want of trying."
