BROMSGROVE RFC U9s convincingly won the Silhillians Rugby Festival at the weekend.
The Finstall Park juniors came out on top against teams from Birmingham and Solihull, Lichfield, Rugby, Barker Butts and hosts Silhillians. Bromsgrove went undefeated, scoring 19 tries in all and conceding none.
They started with an impressive 30-0 victory against Birmingham and Solihull. In the second match, they defeated Lichfield 20-0. Bromsgrove then beat Barker Butts 25-0 before drawing 0-0 with the hosts and beating Rugby 20-0 in the final.
Chris Cornelissen, Mike Leech and Callum O'Connell scored five tries each, Chris Howard scored three and Jake Hudson two. Olivia Archer, Guy Bamford, Jack Dicker, James Harborne, William Hargreaves, Ben Hewitt, William Hunt, Peter Kehoe and James Young got one apiece.
Bromsgrove RFC U8s put on a wonderful display of tag rugby at the Old Silhillians tournament last Sunday against Old Silhillians, Birmingham and Solihull, Barkers Butts, Rugby Lions and Lichfield. Alex Russell top scored with six tries, newcomer Ian Haley scored four.
