SWIFTS 1, CINDERFORD 4

STOURPORT Swifts slumped to their third defeat in four games as they were swept aside 4-1 by rampant Cinderford on Friday.

Richard Ball bagged a second-half penalty for Swifts but this could not stop the Forest of Dean side from taking all three Dr Martens Western Division points.

Kevin Slack struck twice in a minute before the break to give the visitors the best of starts.

Jason Donovan twice sliced open the home defence with passes and Slack did the rest to fire home on 34 and 35 minutes.

The two-goal hero then turned provider as he eased past his marker and crossed for Will Steadman to power home with a fierce volley two minutes into the second half.

It took Stourport 69 minutes before testing visiting keeper Andy Fisher with James Wood trying his luck from the edge of the area.

And hopes were raised when, three minutes later, Ball drove his spot kick into the bottom corner following a handball.

But Donovan restored the visitors' three-goal cushion on 76 minutes following good work by Simon Truman and Darryl Addis.
