EIGHTEEN low-floor buses will be bought for Redditch if a £3.5 million three-year project gets the green light.
Redditch Council, together with other partners including the county council, has submitted a £1 million bid to the Department of Transport.
If the bid for Urban Bus Challenge funding is successful, the money will be put together with funding from other sources totalling £3.5 million.
The project will see significant changes, including improved bus stop infrastructure, more information and the return of an evening service.
A decision is due in December or January.
