ALVECHURCH'S joint manager Neil Bryan launched a stinging attack on his players after a poor Midland Football Alliance display against Oldbury.

Bryan let the players know his feelings after 90 miserable minutes and has now pledged to bring in players who are hungry for success at the club.

"It simply wasn't good enough," said Bryan. "To me, it looked as if they are just turning up and playing for the sake of it.

"What we want now is some honesty from the players and to see a reaction."

That opportunity couldn't come much bigger than the home clash with high-flying Bridgnorth on Saturday.

The management team are confident of bringing in two or three new faces with one of the recruits possibly signed in time for Saturday's encounter.

"We know that the players we already have here are capable - otherwise we would never have brought them to the club in the first place," explained Bryan. "But what we need now is some new faces around the dressing room."

Alvechurch had started off positively against Oldbury but were rocked when striker Brett Fitzpatrick was involved in a horrifying collision with the visiting goalkeeper.

Fitzpatrick was stretchered off and could now lose a tooth according to the specialist he saw on Monday but was still due to play in last night's trip to Oadby Town.

Bryan believes that such was the worrying nature of the clash, his players couldn't rediscover their rhythm for the rest of the first half but was then unhappy that they couldn't find an equaliser when Olbury broke the deadlock midway through the second half.
