POLICE believe a callous robber specifically targeted a man because he was blind.
The victim was walking with his guide dog down Bates Hill at about 4.45pm on Sunday when someone approached him from behind and snatched his brown leather shopping bag. The thief ran off and police believe he may have discarded the bag nearby.
Ds Leighton Harding, of Redditch CID, said: "This is a despicable case. The offender would have known the victim was blind and it's difficult to believe that someone can sink so low. This man was left feeling very shaken but thankfully unhurt."
