HEADING back to the Midlands following a smash hit two year run in the West End and six record breaking UK tours is The Roy Orbison Story - a stunning tribute to the man who even Elvis called 'The greatest voice in the history of rock 'n' roll.'

Produced in association with Roy's extraordinary wife Barbara Orbison, it was hailed by critics as 'The Best Musical in Town' when it opened in London.

Now revised, this sensational recreation of the life and music of rock n' roll features a kaleidoscope of hit songs including Pretty Woman, Only The Lonely, It's Over, Crying, Blue Bayou and Running Scared.

From Roy's early days with Elvis producer Sam Phillips, to his first British tour with the Beatles, through 22 hit records to the come-back years with the Travelling Wilbury's, The Roy Orbison Story celebrates the life of a music and recording legend.

Roy Orbison was a unique talent.

He was the first musician to talk about love, the first 'man in black' and the first singer-songwriter that told grown men it was okay to cry.

His simple heartfelt ballads of loneliness, grief and despair have set him forever at the summit of the rock 'n' roll Hall of Fame.

Damien Edwards as Orbison heads a multi-talented cast of actors and musicians as they retell the remarkable story of Roy Orbison's life.

Director Keith Strachan has worked on numerous West End musicals including Good Rockin Tonight and Grease. His credits also include Cliff Richard's hit single Mistletoe and Wine which sold over one million copies in 1988.

The Roy Orbison Story runs at the Birmingham Hippodrome Theatre from Monday, November 10 to Saturday November 15. Tickets are priced from £14.50 - £24.50.
