A SCHOOLGIRL who has patiently helped a partially-sighted classmate for the past four years has received her good citizen award.
Jessica Andrews, aged nine, was unable to attend a ceremony at West Mercia police headquarters last week when she was named the force's best young citizen.
But having returned from holiday she was given her prize by the award's judge, Chief Constable Paul West.
He visited Jessica at her school, St Richard's First School, Evesham, where she helps nine-year-old Brandon Corr with his specialist equipment.
Mr West praised Jessica for making "such a difference to one individual in particular".
As well as her trophy, she received £100 prize money and a pen set and a £50 charity donation, which she gave to the County Air Ambulance.
