The Royal British Legion is asking for volunteers to collect money for this year's Poppy Appeal in the Malvern Link area.
Despite the great deal of publicity covering the forces this year, there is a real shortage of volunteers in the area.
Rolph James, Poppy Appeal organiser for Malvern Link, said: "We need as many volunteers as we can. With the war in Iraq this year, demand for money is even greater than usual."
People are especially needed for collections outside the Safeway and Matalan stores and other areas around the Link.
Collectors are also needed for areas around Great Malvern, but volunteers would be welcome to perform door-to-door collections around any of the areas in Malvern.
Mr James said: "We're very flexible when it comes to collecting. People can collect in their own area, as often as they wish and whenever suits them best. We would be grateful for any help."
People wishing to volunteer for collections in Malvern Link should contact Rolph James on 01684 541121. Those wishing to cover Great Malvern should contact John Kimberley on 01684 563892.
