AS the present elected Link Ward Conservator, may I alert all residents, particularly those who use and love our Link commons, that the county council is still intent on imposing across the lower common an unnecessary cycle track diagonally from Pickersleigh Road to the Link railway station - at least five feet wide and work to commence in November.
This track would split the common into two parts and create a nasty scar on our landscape. It will also be a source of conflict between cyclists and pedestrians and is a fine example of the unnecessary waste of your 13 per cent Council Tax increases.
At the time of writing, the county council has made no effort to consult Link residents or common users and those concerned about this unwanted encroachment on the common should make representations without delay.
I shall be doing all I can to prevent this further "urbanisation" of our common.
ARTHUR TURNER, Church Road, Malvern.
