AN open day at a church in Worcester has raised more than £2,000 to go towards its building appeal fund.
St Clement's Church, Henwick Road, St John's, needs to raise almost £100,000 over the next five years to pay for repairs.
At Saturday's open day, members of the public generously donated £2,050.
"Our fund has now reached more than £4,000," said Margaret Dixon, one of the churchwardens.
"We wish to thank everyone who gave us a donation for our appeal - we are not closing it though, and anyone who has not been able to send us a donation can still do so as we still need £96,000 to carry out the repairs to the church."
At the open day, people were given the chance to look around the church and see what work needs to be carried out.
There was also a special display on baptism and marriage.
