A PROTEST march through Kidderminster - originally planned for November - against proposed mergers of district schools has been postponed until next year.
Nigel Knowles, who is co-ordinating the rally and other protests against the Worcestershire County Council school proposals, said the march would have more impact in the spring when the county decides on the shape of its Wyre Forest education review.
And, by then, more schools under threat of merger in the shake-up - which aims to tackle surplus places and raise standards - may have come on board, he added.
On November 13 campaigners will lobby the full meeting of the county council while December 5 will see candle masses at schools and churches.
Schools next meet on November 10 at the Franche Club in Wolverley Road, Kidderminster, at 7pm. For further information contact Mr Knowles on 01299 402343.
Meanwhile, a meeting held last week by parents concerned about the future of Wolverley High School attracted strong support, according to organiser Chris Nicholls.
Some 35 parents of Cookley First School pupils - who are subsequently taught at the high school - argued it was an "integral" part of the community.
