AN EVESHAM man is off to meet the Queen on Monday after Journal readers nominated him for special recognition.
The president of Evesham Arts Centre, Mr Lauri Griffith-Jones is to attend a reception at Buckingham Palace with his wife Joan to celebrate inspiration.
In August, readers were invited to nominate members of the community they felt deserved special recognition for their contribution to life in their area.
Nominations flooded in and a list of names was compiled by the Journal and sent off to the palace, where the nominee was hand-picked to be among those attending the reception hosted by the Queen.
Mr Griffith-Jones said: "I was really surprised to be nominated and delighted to receive the invitation.
"I've never met the Queen before and am really excited to be going."
