MATCHES against two of the Western Division's form sides will test Evesham United to the full, writes Mervyn Collins.
Gresley Rovers, led by the September Manager of the Month, visit Common Road on Saturday, while there's a local derby at the Valley Stadium on Tuesday night when Phil Mul-len's men tackle top of the table Redditch United (7.45pm).
"We've got a heavy duty month but we're getting there, it's just a case of winning matches now," Mul-len admitted.
The Evesham boss was disappointed to lose at Gloucester last weekend when he felt his side at least deserved a replay.
"The difference was is that they took their chances and we didn't," he recalled. "There didn't look anything wrong with Grant's (Pinkney) goal but we still had enough chances to have won the game."
Mullen goes into a stiff double-header possibly without four injured players. Nat-han Jukes, Simon Marsh, Shaun Pratt and Wesley Joyce are all doubtful starters.
The United chief will thus be hoping that he can persuade Sean Flynn to make himself available, at least for Saturday's home game.
"Sean trained with us on Tuesday but I will know more later in the week," Mullen admitted. "We're 80 per cent there but you just never know what's around the corner."
Saturday's match is being sponsored by T & P Davies Scaffold-ing (Evesham) and the ball by Euro Fresh Marketing (Gwent).
