The attacking midfielder returned to Aggborough on loan after several attempts by Ian Britton to re-sign him.
Melligan, a Republic of Ireland U-21s international, grabbed 12 goals for Harriers last season.
But his club Wolves have restricted him to reserve-team action again this season as they struggle in the Premiership.
As well as being a clinical finisher, Melligan has a great knack of linking midfield and attack with intelligent forward runs and impressive ability on the ball.
The Dubliner was given two appearances for Wolves first team last season in between making a huge impact in Division Three during two Harriers loan spells.
