I HAVE noticed that some of your readers have recently written to you concerning Wychavon District Council's recycling Scheme.
To avoid any confusion I would like to share some important points about the recycling sack scheme.
l Sacks are collected in a special vehicle, which has two compartments - one for the recycling and one for the refuse.
l Clear sacks are for cans and plastics and purple sacks are for paper and textiles.
l Recycling sacks are collected on the same day as the normal refuse. One week clear sacks are collected along with bags of refuse; the next week purple sacks are collected with the refuse.
l The recycling vehicle delivers the coloured recycling bags to the new recycling facility at Hill and Moor and then empties the remaining normal refuse at the tip.
l Bottle banks should be used to recycle all glass; these are located throughout the district.
As Wychavon's household recycling collections have now been introduced, the private company Worcestershire Community Recycling has withdrawn their red box and bag scheme, in future you should use the purple and clear bag scheme.
