FLOOD protection in Worcester could be bolstered by the installation of a new warning gauge in Barbourne.
The Environment Agency has said it is considering a site at the old water treatment works, in Waterworks Road, to place a river gauge measuring when water is rising to dangerous levels. It hopes to submit plans for the scheme later this year.
The system would be similar to a £200,000 system that has just been installed in Bewdley.
Last month Worcester City Council approved a plan to use a temporary wooden pallet scheme on Hylton Road to help safeguard the city from flooding
