A REDDITCH-based rock band have now embarked on a UK tour following an appearance on Carlton TV's new music show Xposure last month, where they appeared with the Fun Lovin' Criminals.

The 'Hole kicked off their tour on September 23 with a gig at London's Brixton Telegraph, followed by a guest slot at the Kim Fowley Happening, also in the capital.

The first week of the tour, to promote limited edition EP neverforgetwhatyouhaven'tbeentold, ended with a headlining slot at Nottingham's Rescue Rooms, scene of the band's entrance onto the concert circuit last March.

The Advertiser reported in July the five piece - Dave Humphries, Mark Sullivan, Luke Watson, Dan Tillsley, and Lance Joseph - had been approached by the TV network following a successful appearance at the Hard Rock Caf for radio station Heart FM.

Main songwriter Dave Humphries said: "This is something of a departure for us and I guess the next step in the growth of the band.

"We've done a lot of one-off gigs in the recent past, usually with a few days or weeks between them, this time we've got a fairly busy schedule throughout October and November.

"Although great fun, it's hard work and takes a little getting used to because we still have day jobs or university - not to mention rehearsals and the recording of our first album."

The 'Hole will appear at venues across the country, including London, York, Telford, Northampton and Sheffield throughout the month, as well as The Jubilee pub in Studley on October 31.
