SEPTEMBER was a busy month for the Group. The first meeting was on the second Tuesday at Malvern when members were told of the £103.40 added to funds from donations and a boot sale.

Speaker Dr Stephen O'Hickey spoke about being prepared for winter by being as fit and healthy as possible and having a flu jab.

He followed this with a question-and-answer session and spoke to a few members individually.

Then on September 15, the group met for the first time in Worcester, at Bilford Court. Several members attended who had never been to a meeting before.

Allison Rex, from the Primary Care Trust, spoke about the physical activity leader training course being run by Age Concern.

Cat Hayward, training officer from Age Concern, spoke about the aims of the course and pulmonary nurse Elaine Bevan Smith gave her report. She explained she was helping to set up a training course at University College Worcester to enlighten GPs, physiotherapists and community nurses on how to help improve services for those with lung conditions.

Chairman Mike Bowker told members all about how Breathe Easy works.

It was decided after discussion that Worcester meetings would be held bi-monthly at Bilford Court.
