A REDDITCH parent governor will meet education ministers this month as part of the ongoing campaign to secure a fairer funding settlement for schools across the county.
Juliet Brunner and fellow Worcestershire County Council parent governor representative Jonathan Pearsall will travel to Westminster on Wednesday, October 22, to meet Government schools chiefs and county MPs.
The trip was announced at a public meeting at County Hall on Thursday, which saw 100 people quiz Worcester MP Mike Foster.
Mrs Brunner, a parent governor at Matchborough First and Ipsley Middle schools, said: "This is a rallying call for all those with an interest in children.
"We're asking all members of the community to unite behind the Fairer Educational Funding for Worcestershire 2003 Campaign.
"Children in our county continue to be educationally discriminated against because of where they live."
The fight for fairer funding received a setback when Local Government Minister Phil Hope MP delivered a blow to the campaign for a top-up to the handout the county council received.
About 10,000 people have so far signed the parent governors' petition calling for equity for funding for schoolchildren.
