TOTS at a Bromsgrove school have been using their loaf by collecting food for a good cause.
Pupils at the Mount School in Birmingham Road held their annual harvest festival last Friday morning.
In the run-up to the festival, youngsters brought in a wide variety of foods, including fresh fruit and vegetables, as well as tins and preserves.
The Salvation Army will now distribute food hampers to a number of worthwhile local causes.
Headteacher Jane Stowe said: "The children have really enjoyed collecting the produce and really appreciated that it was going to help less fortunate people."
Catshill Methodist Church, in Golden Cross Lane, also gave their harvest festival produce to a number of town charities. Dodford Children's Holiday Farm, a town youth project and the Gateway Women's Refuge were all welcome recipients of food parcels.
Minister at the church, Reverend Malcolm Brookes said: "We have done this for a number of years now and see it as a practical way of helping worthwhile local charities."
