The final show of the year was held at All Saints Hall, Burcot Lane, on September 27.

Robert Greaves, a hound specialist from Stourbridge, came to judge 94 dogs. This was an excellent entry and Mr Greaves commented on the quality of the dogs entered.

Best in Show was a Pointer owned by Mr and Mrs Stilgoe, of Worcester, and this was the third time he had won this award.

Reserve Best in Show was also from Worcester, Mrs Allan's Cocker Spaniel. The Best Opposite Sex in Show was Mr and Mrs Stanley's nine-year-old Bichon Frise. Best Puppy was Mrs Cutler and O'nions Miniature Poodle and reserve to him was Mrs Wilkes' Lhasa Apso from Solihull.

The local winners were: Mrs Elliott's Pointer - 3rd Setter/Pointer Open; Mrs Elliott's Lhasa Apso - 3rd Utility Open; Mrs Green's Rhodesia Ridgeback - 1st Post Grad; Lady Tennear's Bearded Collie - 2nd Exhibit not having won a 1st at the society show; Mrs Willetts' Wire Haired Dachshund - 1st Av, Dachshund Open.

Training classes for the show ring are held at All Saints hall, Burcot Lane, Bromsgrove, on Wednesday evenings at 8pm. Inquiries to secretary Di Morgan on 0121 445 3595.
