THE Phillpott File (September 22), took us back to the end of the war and those good old days of years gone by. It was a brilliant piece of journalism.

However, it made me wonder, what could he write about the times in which we live now?

These days, many people believe America and Israel are warmongers, love for one's country is old-fashioned and the European superstate is not to be questioned.

The welfare state is supposed to be an earthly Utopia, homosexuality is admirable, chastity is laughable, abortion is good, foxhunting is bad, smoking is evil.

On top of all this, Christianity is detested. Yet it offers the only real alternative.
