BUDDING Burcot artists have been getting busy with their brushes ready for the first public exhibition of their work.

Members of the Burcot Art Club will be showing off their work at Droitwich Spa Library from next Tuesday to Friday, November 7.

Creative minds from all over Bromsgrove and as far as Harborne and Pershore meet at Burcot Village Hall once a month to practise ideas but this is their first show.

Dorothy Coates, a member of the group for about two years, said: "We are all very excited, although we are not sure who exactly will want to see our work."

Their tutor, Jess Hand, has helped the group arrange the exhibition, which includes a host of styles from inspirational still life to beautiful landscapes.

The Victoria Square library was selected as it offered the group good facilities for hanging the work and will hopefully attract a wider audience.

"We thought about staging the exhibition at the village hall but we thought Droitwich Library would attract more people," added Dorothy.

The Burcot Art Group's show will follow the current exhibition of illustrations by pop artist David Hockney and will run during the normal opening hours of the library.
