DEAR EDITOR -- I owe my life to the ambulance crew who found me unconscious at home after I made a 999 call as my heart was losing blood.
I woke up in the cardiac ward of the Walsgrave Hospital in Coventry.
It was a very difficult time. The doctors and nurses were wonderful, performing a 12-hour operation. It was as near-death as I ever have been.
I am grateful too to the staff of the Alexandra Hospital in Redditch.
Doctors and nurses are wonderful professions. One only has to face a life-threatening crisis to realise how dedicated they are.
My profound thanks.
