BROMSGROVE RFC Colts started their season with a 48-15 home victory over Luctonians Colts.
Three Bromsgrove players turned out for the opposition, short on personnel, and one such player, Seymour, sprinted over for the visitors' first try. The conversion, along with all the others, was missed.
Bromsgrove came storming back with a well-taken try from Luke Boland. Luctonians then picked up the pace and captain Jaz scored after a flowing move started by Edgington, another Bromsgrove volunteer helping the opponents.
At 10-5, Bromsgrove started to play some positive rugby and Garner rounded full back Harper to score near the posts. Crook converted the first of his four conversions.
Tries then followed at regular intervals. Ollie Wells distributed the ball well and Jamie Dignam finished a good move by sprinting on to Cawston's clever kick.
Pete Douglas benefited from a strong, penetrating run from Rostrup, who unselfishly put the scrum-half in under the posts.
Luctonians scored their final try from a well taken line out.
The Colts kept up the pressure with Crook scoring in the corner and kicked arguably the hardest conversion of the match.
The final try of the match went to Gibson.
