FAIRFIELD Villa lost their second cup match in a week with a penalty shoot-out defeat at home to Handsaker.

Villa, beaten 2-0 at Bewdley Town in the Worcestershire FA Junior Cup last week, were level 3-3 at 90 minutes, twice putting through their won net, and crashed out 4-2 from the spot.

Fairfield got off to a tremendous start, taking the lead through Dean Smith after just three minutes.

The lead lasted only another three minutes as defender Carl Jones deflected the ball past his own goalkeeper Malcolm Barnes.

Villa again took the lead on 22 minutes when Martin Tranter drove the ball home. But again the lead was short lived as Neill Tinkler turned a cross into his own net.

Six minutes into the second half Villa took the lead for the third time, again Tranter finishing off a good move.

On the hour, Hansaker once again drew level through Lee James.

Level at the end and no more goals in extra time saw the game into penalties. Causer saved the fist two Fairfield kicks while Handsaker were successful with their first four to go through.
