STOURPORT Swifts can look forward to a trip to their Division Three neighbours Kidderminster Harriers in the second round of the Worcestershire Senior Cup after a last-gasp 3-2 win over Studley at Walshes Meadow last night.

And it was striker James Wood who was hero with a two-goal blast to take his side through.

Stourport opened the scoring after just six minutes when giant defender Dave Davies headed home a corner despite the visitors' frantic efforts to clear off the line.

But the Midland Football Alliance side hit back and should have been on level terms midway through the half when Mark Beddowes, a Swifts target in the summer, headed over when unmarked six yards out.

Ian Mitchell and Mark Neath went close to levelling either side of the break before former Evesham striker Matt Coppin struck twice in six minutes.

His first saw him scramble the ball over the line on 53 minutes after Mark Crisp had headed a corner goalwards which Stourport keeper Lee Evans blocked on the line.

Then he swung the game in Studley's favour which a dazzling goal that saw him start and finish a move that sliced through the Swifts defence.

Evans then produced an excellent save to keep out a fierce Neath drive 15 minutes from time.

The arrival of substitute Richard Taylor gave Swifts some extra width and, with manager Dave Titterton sending on a third striker, the equaliser finally came on 77 minutes. Star man Ronnie Sayer's through ball picked out Wood who thundered his shot past keeper Jason Print.

Wood had a chance to win the game on 80 minutes only to fire over when well placed. But he made amends five minutes into injury time after Print had denied Richard Ball with a point blank save.

Stourport: Evans 6, Webb 7, Ulfig 6, Jones 6, Davies 6, Harris 6 (Hayward 81, 6), Hyde 7 (Taylor 71), Sayer 8, Wright 6 (Hawkes 64, 6), Wood 6, Ball 7. Subs (not used) Cotterill, Kilgour.
