BROMSGROVE Rovers are out of administration - and that's official.

The Victoria Ground club was finally given the green light by the courts yesterday (Tuesday).

Rovers spent the best part of three years under the watch of Halesowen-based Mayfields Practioners after going into administration in October 2000, 12 months before Tom Herbert took over as chairman.

The club was initially given the all clear last year but has had to wait for the paperwork to be finalised.

A club statement said: "Mr Tom Herbert said today (Tuesday) that he had been informed by the club's administrators Mayfields Practioners, that Bromsgrove Rovers Football Club Ltd was now officially out of administration.

"Mr Herbert said he was very happy with the news and it would now enable the club at long last to move forward and upwards. The future now looks very secure for everyone at the Rovers."

Rovers can now operate freely and aim to call an annual general meeting and fans forum in the near future. A seven-man board has also been assembled.

The news comes just a month after Rovers agreed a new seven-year lease with Bromsgrove District Council.
