MALVERN Town turned in an outstanding performance at the Langland Stadium on Tuesday night to demolish Lye Town in the FA Youth Cup Third Qualifying Round and at the same time earn a first round proper tie away to Notts County.

MALVERN TOWN YOUTH 7, LYE TOWN YOUTH 2

It was Olly Endacott who gave Malvern a 20th minute lead when he latched on to Anthony's Smith's superb through ball and rounded the Lye keeper before slotting home.

But just five minutes later Lye equalised, with an equally well-worked goal.

With the scores level at the interval, Malvern came out all guns blazing in what proved to be a memorable second half and it was the excellent Smith who this time set up Shaun Harris, who put his side in front for the second time.

Town though, once again failed to hold on to their lead, as a goalmouth scramble led to a second Lye equaliser in the 55th minute.

But the remaining 25 minute's were all Malvern's, as Harris restored their lead in the 63rd minute, and a 70th minute Endacott solo effort increased the home side's advantage further.

Harris again made his mark in the 73rd minute to secure his hat-trick and, not to be outdone, Endacott followed suit in the 87th minute.

Inevitably, there was one goal left in the pot for Malvern, and it was Lee Tompkins whose 89th minute free kick secured their seventh strike and an emphatic victory in front of an excellent mid week crowd who enthusiastically applauded the Malvern youngsters off the field following a great night for the club all round.
