WORCESTER Hockey Club women have been boosted by the appointment of former Great Britain international and Olympic gold medalist Malcolm Wilkinson as their head coach.
He has over 30 years experience in the game and takes over from Tim Barlow.
Wilkinson said: "I'm honoured to be given the opportunity to support the girls in the National League. They have done an excellent job to get this far, but this is just the base of the summit."
First team captain Elaine Shepperd described the new coach's appointment as 'a breath of fresh air to the squad.'
"It's just the move to allow us to compete at the highest level," she said.
The team have high hopes of a successful season starting at Birmingham University tomorrow.
