AROUND 600 people attended an open day to see the new County Air Ambulance on Saturday.
The event, at the ambulance's Strensham base, was opened by BBC2's Flying Gardener Chris Beardshaw and raised around £4,000.
The new Eurocopter EC 135 is the second to join the charity's fleet. During the event, the service's Bolkow helicopter was called out twice and the other EC 135, based at Cosford, stopped off to refuel after taking a patient to Cheltenham.
"Events like this are crucial to raising our profile," said fundraising development manager Paul Weir.
