MEMBERS of Malvern Young Firefighters Association have been thanked for returning a village pond to its natural state
Hanley Swan village pond had dried up over the hot summer months and resident Brian Robinson was concerned that it was spoiling the look of the village.
After contacting the group, he was delighted to see them rectify the problem by filling the pond from a fire engine hydrant.
Mr Robinson, of The Rhydd, said: "I was over the moon. People had been complaining about the pond all summer."
Mr Robinson was particularly impressed by Young Firefighter Claire Alley, 18, from Malvern, who organised the visit.
Instructor Vanessa Maynard said the group was glad to help and added: "We've done similar things in Ledbury before. If it's anything to do with community safety, we and the firefighters are quite happy to help members of the public."
