MORE social housing could be built in Malvern and Ledbury by Elgar Housing Association.
The association's chairman Jonathan Slade told its annual general meeting last week that it had a pot of money set aside to help fund housing initiatives.
This is from profits made from the sales of student houses and the return on savings.
Elgar executive director Clare Huyton said after the meeting that the money may total as much as £500,000 by the end of the year.
"This money is the difference between projects working or not," said Ms Huyton.
It could be used to lever further funding for more housing projects or improve existing housing stock.
Ms Huyton said that the association was also looking to improve housing provision in rural areas and that work would begin by the end of the financial year.
