THE new customer service centre at Malvern Library is performing well and answering queries efficiently, it was reported this week.
At a meeting of Malvern Hills District Council on Tuesday, council leader Tom Wells said the patronage of the centre had increased week on week since its opening on July 28, and there were now more than 1,000 visitors a week.
Coun Wells said the centre's modest aim had been to answer 80 per cent of inquiries at first point of contact, but so far "a staggering" 99 per cent of visitors had their queries answered on their first visit to the new centre.
The centre is a joint partnership between Malvern Hills District Council and Worcestershire County Council and aims to help people with inquiries about council services.
