A PRESENTATION on business was given to Malvern Hills District Council at its meeting on Tuesday.
Christine Jones, chief executive of the Hereford-shire and Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce and Business Link, highlighted the importance of supporting small businesses.
She said the Malvern area has the greatest proportion of small businesses across the two counties with 87.3 per cent of companies employing less than 10 people.
Ms Jones outlined the services her organisation was able to offer businesses, such as link-ups with other companies, mentoring and advice on international trade.
She cited Malvern companies Wordsworth Intern-ational, CGP Associates and Cellpharm as companies that the Chamber of Commerce had helped and advised.
Broadband access and how it could help rural businesses was another key issue of Ms Jones's presentation.
"We need broadband access for all and not just for a chosen few," she said.
