AN argument in a Ledbury pub led to a street fight between two men armed with a wooden baton and an iron bar.

Police are appealing for information following the fight early on Sunday morning, which put another man in hospital after he was beaten around the head with the iron bar. Officers are also studying CCTV footage.

It began as an altercation between two men in the Royal Oak, The Southend, at about 11.10pm on Saturday. At around midnight, they were seen fighting in the town, one with a baton and the other with an iron bar.

A man tried to break up the fight, having come to the aid of a woman who also tried to part them.

The man was hit on the head by the man with the iron bar. His injuries including broken teeth, a split lip and mouth and a head cut which required nine stitches.

The man with the metal bar then attacked the man with the wooden baton before shouting abuse as he fled. He made off with another man, both on bikes.

The man with the metal bar is described as white, around 5ft 10in, well built and stocky. He was about 20 years old with short blond hair, possible spiky and wore a light-coloured, hooded top with blue jeans.
