THE English Symphony Orchestra has dedicated its next Malvern concert to the memory of murdered journalist Daniel Pearl.
The orchestra will hold the first in its Leipzig Years series on Friday, October 10, at the Malvern Theatres, which is also Daniel Pearl World Music Day.
Musicians such as Sir Elton John, Ravi Shankar, Barbara Streisand and John Williams have also subscribed to the day, with the aim of sending a message of tolerance, understanding and global harmony.
The event has been set up by the Daniel Pearl Foundation, which promotes cross cultural understanding.
Mr Pearl was a Wall Street Journal reporter kidnapped and murdered in February last year whilst researching a story in Pakistan.
October 10 would have been his 40th birthday.
