THE highlight of last Sunday's fixtures in The Soccer Site Malvern League fixtures was the outstanding comeback by Bell Inn 98 in their division Two game at Vauxhall AFC.

From being three goals down in the 78th minute they staged an amazing comeback scoring six times in the last 12 minutes.

On a hard bumpy pitch the early stages of the game gave no indication of what was to come with Vauxhall having the best of the early play and they took the lead in the 20th minute when Carl Gurney beat the Bell Inn offside trap to fire home. In the 30th minute the home side made it 2-0 when Dave Collins scored.

Bell Inn then began to get more into the game but they found the home keeper Ben Jenkins in good form as he made save after save and even when he was beaten by a Chris Grubb header he saw it rebound from the woodwork. Then totally against the run of play Carl Gurney broke away and ran almost the length of the pitch to make it 3-0.

Bell Inn kept plugging away and pulled a goal back in the 78th minute with an Ashley Jones volley. Nicky Welch pulled another back from close range and then in the next minute Chris Grubb lobbed the keeper from 35 yards to equalise.

With the home team in total disarray Bell Inn pressed forward and Nicky Welch gave them the lead following a mazy dribble and an unstoppable shot from 25 yards. Pete Brown then scored from a free kick and then the comeback was completed when Nicky Welch scored from the penalty spot to complete his hat-trick.

The clash of two of the unbeaten teams at Dynamo Ledbury saw the home side lose their 100 per cent record whilst Madresfield kept theirs with a hard fought 2-1- victory. Dynamo's goal came from John Walker with Tyrone Fisher and Steve Brookes being on target for the visitors. Cross Keys kept their 100 per cent record with a 3-1 victory over visiting Cavalry Arms with goals from Jamie Thomas, Simon Barnett and Paul Edwards with the visitors reply coming from Kevin Gregg.

The other game in this division saw two firsts, Great Malvern's first goal of the campaign thanks to a 65-yard free kick from Luke Marshall to give them a 1-0 half time lead and then Perowne Park Rangers first victory of the season when they netted three times in the second half thanks to Luan Gashi, Daniel Geisler and Dean Barmby.

There should be a good match in prospect this weekend when the two 100 per cent teams Madresfield and Cross Keys clash.

The Division One saw Bishops Frome continue their fine form with a convincing 3-1 victory at Morgan Aero 8. Bishops Frome took the lead in the fifth minute when following a good passing move Garry Nott ran on to a pass to score. Jason Westmacott hit the bar with a 35-yard shot for the visitors before Stewart Graham increased their lead in the 30th minute with a header from a Wayne Tizzard cross.

Bishops Frome continued to play the best football they had for a long time and missed several good chances before they received a jolt when hard working Morgan Aero 8 pulled a goal back when from a left wing cross Richard Bird got in behind the defenders to volley a shot into the roof of the net. This shook the visitors up and they restored their two goal when Westmacott ran onto a through ball and rounded the keeper to complete the scoring.

Talbot Head and AFC Grovesnor shared the points with a 2-2 draw at Upton. The home teams goals came from Danny Briscoe and James Rimmell with the visitors response coming from Anthony O'Neill and Lee Hough.

In the other game in Division One Fromes Hill went down 1-5 at home to Club AC 30, James Howard scored for the home side with Dave Whitehouse, Sven De Feyter and a hat-trick from Jason Payton-Smith.

At the end of September the leading goalscorers are, in Division One, Lee Cluiet (Oak Allstars) 5, Mike Dean (Morgan Aero 8) 4; in Division Two, Nicky Welch (Bell Inn 98) 7, Jamie Thomas (Cross Keys) 6.
